THE ‘MURDER’ OF LUCY MEADOWS
Recently I heard about the death of Lucy Meadows, who according to reports committed suicide. I understand that she was unable to cope with being publicly humiliated by an article in the Daily Mail newspaper written by Littlejohn. I understand that she had been a schoolteacher in Lancashire, and the story was first broken in a local newspaper and then deliberately twisted into a character assassination by the national paper. Therefore driving a depressed person to commit suicide is an act of murder.
On Monday March 25th, I attended a candlelit vigil for Lucy Meadows held outside the Daily Mail’s office in Kensington. The event itself was marked by a sense of dignity far and away removed from the tone of the article written. I happen to notice the Union Jack at full mast, which made me think that it should have been at half mast as a sign of respect, but then you would not expect any respect from these barbarians.
Bullies always target the weak and vulnerable. In the 1930’s the Daily Mail attacked the Jews, 30 years ago it was the Gay community they saw as a target, in 2013 it is transsexuals they think are weak and vulnerable and won’t fight back. Well, I’ve got news for them, not all of us are weak or vulnerable, and we will fight back. We will overcome.
