Incite! Poetry has become the LGBT  poetry event in London.  Set up by the Forum and volunteers, it sadly lost its home at First Out. Incite! then moved to Alleycat on Denmark Street and after a short break is back – better than ever before – at the fabulous CLASP member, the Phoenix Artist Club.

It meets on the second Wednesday of the month. Trudy Howson (award-winning poet, LGBT Poet Laureate and actor) is the volunteer facilitator. Why not come along to what has become a truly exciting poetry evening?

How it works

The evening features performance poets, or guests, plus an open mic hour. It is completely fabulous and free.

It starts at 7pm and usually goes on untill 9:30pm with free jazz perfomances for attendees afterwards. The first part is normally the performance and the second half – after an interval – is for you. Throughout the night, you can add your name to our open mic list and look forward to your slot of poetry. Anything goes! You may be seasoned, it may be your first time or you may want to try something out.
